House of Advisors Bureau Reviews MPs Pension Clearance
Rabat – Members of the bureau of the House of Advisors reviewed on Monday the decision of the Constitutional Court on pension clearance for members of the House of Representatives.
During a meeting, held virtually under the chairmanship of speaker of the House of Advisors Hakim Benchamach, the bureau members reviewed the content of the decision of the Court n° 21/115, which emphasizes that the law on clearing deputies’ pensions is in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and that there is no need to examine the request to review the text, the bureau said in a statement.
The Constitutional Court declared that it lacks competence to consider the request to suspend legislative procedures of the first reading at the House of Representatives on the law related to lifting and clearing the pension scheme for members of the House of Advisors, the same source noted.
Regarding the legislation, the bureau decided to hold a plenary session on April 9, following the opening session, which will be devoted to the examination and vote of the Bill 55.20 amending and completing law 01.09 stipulating the establishment of the National Museums Foundation and Bill 56.20 on museums.
