Madrid – Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Morocco has effectively combined anticipation and firmness in the management of this health crisis, underlines, Monday, the Spanish news website “niusdiario.es”.
The result of this strategy is effective: a daily average, during the last week, of about 400 cases and an incidence of 1.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the Spanish media outlet stresses in an article published under the title “the keys to the success of the Morocco against COVID-19: firmness and anticipation”.
Today, Morocco is among the leading countries in terms of COVID-19 vaccination, the source points out.
More than 4.24 million people – 11.7% of the total population – have already received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 2.11 million people – 5.86% – have received two doses, recalls “niusdiario.es”, adding that with ten million inhabitants less than Spain, Morocco (36 million) has provided more doses of vaccine (5.74 million) than its northern neighbor.
According to the Spanish website, the success of the Moroccan vaccination campaign has been highlighted by foreign agencies and media and praised by the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as international specialized institutes.
Moroccans and foreigners, including Spaniards living in the Kingdom, welcome “the speed and efficiency of the national vaccination system,” the source underlines.
