Disrespect for the Sovereign Reflects Crisis of Values in Neighboring Country – Academic
Rabat – Disrespect for the Sovereign is a transgression of traditions which “reflects the crisis of values in the neighboring country,” said political scientist and academic Mustapha Sehimi, reacting to the immoral behavior of the Algerian television channel “Echourouk”.
In a statement to MAP, Sehimi described as “pitiful” that some Algerian media hit rock-bottom by resorting to mockery. Insulting the King of Morocco is an offense to His person and the dignity of the Moroccan people, he said.
According to Sehimi, no historical, political, or cultural reason could explain such behavior. “The issue is of morals.”
“In this landscape of ruins and despair, Morocco, its King, and its people are portrayed by the junta of generals as the enemy, the historical enemy,” he observed.
This is a misery of politics and a policy of misery, Sehimi said, voicing his compassion for the brotherly people of Algeria.
