Decentralized Cooperation: Morocco’s Ambassador to Spain Meets Madrid Mayor
Madrid – The Moroccan ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, held talks Thursday in Madrid with the mayor of the Spanish capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, within the framework of strengthening decentralized cooperation.
During this meeting, Benyaich outlined the progress of Morocco over the past two decades, with particular emphasis on the various stages of advanced regionalization, the strengthening of the role of local authorities and the changes in the development of some of the Kingdom’s metropolises.
In this regard, Benyaich mentioned the opportunity to establish a partnership between the city of Rabat and the Spanish capital, which would further consolidate the common desire to strengthen decentralized cooperation through an exchange of expertise, particularly in terms of digitalization of administrative procedures, and also through concrete cultural and socio-educational actions.
In this regard, the Spanish official showed a particular interest in carrying out this initiative and expressed his full willingness to make a working visit to Morocco to outline the contours of this partnership.
