The minister, who was presenting in a plenary session the organic bills governing the electoral process, underlined that the current stage requires the commitment of all in efforts to modernize the mechanisms and rules of elections of representative institutions, with a view to accompany the developments and changes that the Kingdom is undergoing in various fields and meet the various challenges faced.
The legislative system submitted to the House of Representatives is of great importance for the country’s political process and the regulation of the level of national representation, as it lays the foundation for the organization of the upcoming elections in a climate of fair competition and the moralization of the electoral process, in accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Laftit pointed out.
The minister welcomed the positive conviction voiced by all political stakeholders who have expressed, during political consultations, an optimistic vision to promote the political practice as well as a common will to guarantee the credibility of the elections.
Laftit stressed that the common will of the parliament, the government, political parties and civil society to ensure the success of the upcoming elections will be the best guarantee to deploy all efforts and meet the aspirations of the Moroccan people, as regards the establishment of efficient and credible elected institutions and the emergence of qualified elites.
