7th G5 Sahel Heads of State & Partners Summit Kicks Off in Chad with Participation of Morocco
N’Djamena – The 7th Summit of the Heads of State of the Group of Five for the Sahel (G5 Sahel) member countries (Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad) and their partners kicked off on Monday in N’Djamena with the participation of Morocco.
The Kingdom is represented at this Summit with a delegation led by Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani.
The two-day summit, which will focus on issues of development at the service of peoples, will take stock of developments in the actions of the G5 Sahel.
Chad, which holds the rotating presidency of the G5 Sahel during this year, wishes to give impetus, in consultation with its partners, to a new dynamic by putting the G5 Sahel at the service of the people.
According to Chad’s Minister of the Economy, Development Planning and International Cooperation, Issa Doubragne, “the priorities of this presidency will be to build on what has been achieved and to refocus on development issues.”
We will engage the G5 Sahel in strategic issues of programs and structuring projects in the five priority sectors that are energy, infrastructure, promising sectors, ICT and of course human capital with priority targets women, youth and rural people, said the minister.
